Soprema Installer Certification

 

 


To become certified with the BPQI as an SPF Installer the following is required:

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR A NEW INSTALLER:

 

STEP 1:

  1. Complete and submit F-090-004 SPF Certified Installer Application Form (EN | FR)
  2. Pay installer registration fee of $250
  3. Pay online examination fee of $250
  4. Pay applicable practical evaluation fees. Fees are as follows:
    • $550 for evaluations done virtually, or at a training centre or approved distributor locations
    • $950 or more for evaluations at job sites or contractor shops; based on evaluator’s travel schedule.

 

STEP 2:

  1. Successfully pass the online examination
  2. Successfully pass the practical evaluation

 

At this point, BPQI will issue a certification card with an annual expiry date of April 30th.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR AN EXISTING INSTALLER CERTIFIED WITH ANOTHER PROGRAM:

 

STEP 1:

  1. Complete and submit F-090-004 SPF Certified Installer Application Form (EN | FR)
  2. Must provide verification of certification with another program (copy of ID card)
    No Installer registration fee needed – savings of $250 – FREE

 

NOTE: MUST FILL OUT F-090-010 ACCREDITED CONTRACTOR FORM, SEND COPY OF CURRENT LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR COMPANY, WORKERS COMPENSATION AND INCLUDE PAYMENT OF ACCREDITATION FEE.

 

At this point, BPQI will issue a certification card with a six-month expiry date. The installer shall have six months to submit payment and make arrangements to take the online exam and the practical exam. Failure to complete the exams successfully within this time period, will result in the installer having to apply again as a new installer and all fees shall apply.

 

STEP 2:

  1. Pay online examination fee of $250
  2. Pay applicable practical evaluation fees. Fees are as follows:
    • $550 for evaluations done virtually, or at a training centre or approved distributor locations.
    • $950 or more for evaluations at job sites or contractor shops; based on evaluator’s travel schedule.
  3. Successfully pass the online examination
  4. Successfully pass the practical evaluation

ONGOING CERTIFIED INSTALLER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Annual Installer Certification Renewal Fee (May 1st to April 30th) – $150
  • Re-instatement fee (only if the installer certification lapsed) – $250
